What are your tactics to win this year’s Santa Winter Games?

I will bring good cheer, enthusiasm, special Santa skills and years of experience. Despite being relatively young ( aged 54) I have been Santa for many years, first putting on the Red Suit and Beard when I was in my early twenties. For the last 21 years, I have been the

Official Santa Claus for my City of Perth, Western Australia, taking part in Parades and a variety of Christmas events hosted by the City and Lord Mayor. In my other professional life, I am a Storyteller for children and adults, so I have many Christmas Stories to tell, if there is a visit to children who can understand a little English! I also come equipped with a unique Santa Hand Bell, commissioned by the Swan Bells of Perth and the City of Perth, cast and finished by a Bell Foundry in London. It has a beautiful sound and wherever I ring it, it sounds out the special magic of Christmas to every ear. I also have a good singing voice, which is a great help to Santa! I usually wear fur-trimmed short pants when I’m in Perth, but I

think I may have to bring long red socks when I visit Gallivare!

Your hobby?

As Santa, my extra duties in Perth often include Storytelling, and of course, singing Christmas songs.

Besides porridge your favorite food is?

Christmas Pudding, and everything else, which is why Mrs Claus is always reminding me not to get too big for my pants.

Your best trick to get down the chimney?

Remembering to not eat too much Christmas dinner before I bring the presents.

Any special skills?
Singing and storytelling, dancing and remembering every child's name.

How do you win the hearts of the audience?

By looking like Santa, by sounding like Santa, by being Santa.

Your favorite Christmas song?

Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed reindeer. We also sing a funny version of Jingle Bells that is suitable for Australia. And Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly, which is very popular here.

Other Information: i pride myself on being as real as I can be when I become Santa. I am always happy to hear children tell their parents that at last they have got to meet the "Real" Santa. And Parents say this too! I also come with a very talented Santa Helper! She can sing and dance and is usually a basket of sweets, which helps to make her even more popular with children!
